This well-established Construction Company, in business since 2001, is now looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join the team in managing the company's high-end residential building projects.

Due to a sharp increase in new business this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Procurement Specialist to make their mark and fully own this a newly created Procurement position.

This company has many sites currently in operation at various levels of completion with additional projects beginning. The Procurement Specialist will be based in the Dublin / Leinster area with about 80% of sites are new higher end residential property development sites.

The Role of the Procurement Specialist:

Liaise and be the go to person between operations, contract managers and finance
Set up how the PO payments system should function and streamline it for maximum control and to keep waste and mistakes to a minimum
Deal directly with suppliers and negotiate prices and payment terms and procedures
Train and monitor administration in new and more efficient payment methods
Train and monitor staff and contractors on new, improved payment procedures
Take full control to implement all payments procedures and PO system
You will be the person that controls & approves all company payments
The Procurement / Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for the smooth execution of all payment functions
Develop and monitor clear, actionable plans to ensure systems are streamlined, efficient and savings targets are met.
Liaise directly with Contract Managers, contractor and staff to educate and implement purchasing & procurement procedures.
Ensure clear lines of communication are maintained with decision makers at all times.
Work with management and assist with monitoring all Health and Safety issues.

Skills:

At least 2 - 3 years' experience in Procurement ideally from a construction environment
Be able to work on your own initiative and plan, prioritise and enjoy multitasking
Have excellent attention to details and time management skills
Have the ability to build good relationships with contractors from various backgrounds
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and a real collaborative and "get things done" approach.
MS Office, Strong Excel experience.
Ideally come from a construction background or related industry.

Salary: €48K -€54K. Full time, Permanent position.
