Are you eligible?
To be eligible for the role you will;
- Be a UK National see below;
- Be at least 18 years old as you will be required to work between midnight and 4am which is not legal unless you are 18;
- Either hold a minimum of two A Levels Grade E or relevant experience;
- Hold a full and valid passport;
- Hold a full UK Driving Licence (manual);
- Be able to provide all of the documents we need to complete your pre-employment screening and security clearance.
Nationality
Posts are open to UK nationals only. There will be no employment restriction or time limit on your permitted stay in the UK. You should normally have been resident in the UK for five years immediately preceding your application.
Qualifications or Experience
In order to be eligible you will meet one of the below essential criteria:
Experience Criteria
You will have either:
- Served as a fully attested Police Officer/ Special Constable;
- Served in the British Armed Forces;
- Served as a Border Force Officer for two years.
Qualifications Criteria: 2 A Levels at Grade E or above
This can be equivalents at the same level including a range of formal or vocational training determined by Ofqual such as some BTEC and higher level NVQs.
Driving Licence
You will possess a full UK manual (not automatic) driving licence and be prepared to drive on official business as part of your shift rota. If you are required to be an airside official driver, you will need to undertake an airside medical test and airside driving course. Where you have a medical condition or disability that prohibits this, reasonable adjustments will be considered.
Physical Fitness
This role can be physically demanding. You may need to search cars and freight vehicles; you will require a high level of flexibility and mobility to meet changing demands. In addition, these posts include working outside in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
