Commercial Business Analyst
Providing analysis and review of performance of Sales, Margins and stock across the Estate.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting
-Ensure Sales, margin and stock reporting is delivered weekly across each channel (working with the Finance team)
-Report on Books promotional, new and core range performance
-Report on category performance and underlying drivers
-Report on clearance vs full price margins achieved across Gift, and the new & immature categories
-Perforance based reporting
-Exception reporting on margin below agreed benchmark
-Report on Commercial Income and margin funding
-Facilitate preparation of e-Commerce weekly KPI report
Planning
-Suppor preparation of detailed phased Budgets
-Project and forecast full year Sales, margin and stock versus budget
-Project supplier income
-Work closely with each Category team
Analysis & support business decision making
-Analysis Trading performance
-Support analysis of promotional modelling and pricing scenarios
-Support business decision
-Support Commercial CAPEX proposals
-Work with Retail and store development on refit store plans to optimise profit
-Understand Category profitability and return on space
-Understand channel profitability
Interdepartmental
-Working closing with other teams/ department members to resolve any issues arising in relation to key areas of responsibilities within the business and work towards process control improvements for the future.
The Person:
*The ideal person will be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA,CPA) with at least 3 years' industry experience
*Strong systems experience, ERP knowledge an advantage.
*Excellent excel and data analysis skills are essential
*Strong communication skills
*The ability to interact and communicate effectively with management and other departments in the organisation will be important to the role
*Attention to Detail
*Strong numeric and analytical skills and ability to interrogate systems.
*Ability to prioritise work and requests based on time frames, commercial & operational impacts.
*Energetic and results-focused
*Proactive and the ability to work in a changing environment
