The role: Pre-Sales Manager

The person will be responsible for directly managing a team of Pre Sales Engineers covering various European markets.
The Engineers provide sales consultation to customers on products and solution portfolio in addition to technically supporting our Inside Sales Reps in closing deals.

Key Accountabilities:

* Hires, develops and retains pre-sales professionals with the necessary skills to drive our business forward.
* Directly manages the day to day activities of pre-sales staff and sales support activities.
* Responsible for consistent team-wide delivery of technology and solution- messages to customers in sales engagements.
* Provides overall leadership on initiatives and projects; coordinates with other business units & geographies to share best practices and approaches.
* Makes decisions for team in support of regional goals and objectives; referring to upper management on major issues.
* Analyzes cost and effort of pre-sales support.
* Works with sales management to fully qualify and manage the delivery of pre-sales Proof of Concept/Value engagements.
* Ensures pre-sales team participation in activities that provide a strong transition to post-sales process and customer adoption.

Additional:

* Communicates corporate marketing strategies and procedures of assigned company software products or market segments to sales and technical sales support staff and third-party relationships.
* Work with Field Strategy and Support organization to assure accurate, consistent delivery of marketing message and product capability message.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


* Demonstrated knowledge of at least one industry or market segment;
* Knowledge of corporate/government software and hardware acquisition cycles and buying influences preferred.
* Ability to travel when required.
* Knowledge of sales methodologies and practices.
* Fluency in German and English

Education:
* Bachelor's degree preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or quantitative field

Experience:

* 3-5 years People Management experience in a sales environment
* Experience in technical sales, marketing, data processing and technology. Background in analytics preferred.
Equivalency:
* Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in place of the requirements above.
