L3 Deskside Support - 3 month contract

One of the biggest Financial Services company located in Blackrock Dublin is urgently looking for a contractor to join the team for 3 months and help them with Windows 10 migration. We are looking for candidates to start 15.10.2018!



Your job will be:

Perform a "contact with the user base" to assess data etc held on the local machine and additional software that was not picked up by a project team.
Carry this information back to the deployment team.
Ensure excellent communication between user base, deployment team, and project team.
Coordinate deployments and collections with the user base.
Collect existing desktop and return to build area.
Wipe HDD in accordance with local wiping process and securely store the HDD.
Remove excessive chassis dust.
Install new SSD and extra RAM.
Image machine according to the build guide.
Deploy and verify all is working.
Work with SE team to identify any issues.
Maintain asset management.

To be a great fit you will need:

PC/Desktop Support knowledge including Windows OS & Windows Office Suites and core application suites.
Experience with Windows migration
Good knowledge of Workstation, Desktops & Laptops.
Good supervisory skills.
Accepts and handle responsibility.
Have a good technical understanding of typical Windows, Office desktops running across a financial services company, the "back office".
Understand Active Directory and how the desktop must be built in with cognizance to the design of the Active Directory.
Understand how group policies manage the appropriate access control for business users on the desktop.
Understand the interdependency that desktop-based applications typically have larger mainframe applications and company networks.
Understand the importance of software and security updates from a Windows and MS Office perspective and how to adapt an appropriate cadence for the specific desktop
Ensure that the Operating system and drivers are kept up to date/at an appropriate version.
Can provide the "read across" to all the above interdependencies and interactions to help drive the provision of a coherent, functioning desktop.
Establish an appropriate standard for documentation of builds and versions etc.
Provide insights into the typical software/approaches that can help record and track all the asset classes that play a part in and interact with the desktop build.
