The Role
We are looking for a customer-focused and enthusiastic IoT developer with a genuine interest and passion for technology, IoT, analytics and user experience to work as part of a team in this exciting area.The role involves working in a team that are an internal IoT capability group with ownership for gateway/sensor onboarding, provisioning (Operating System) and lifecycle manageability. They provide support to many internal projects and customers.
Job Description:
- Daily use of the Python and Linux shell.
- Development, bu fixing and optimizing of tools/ application/services - implementation of specified functionalities
- Write unitary tests for own part of code
- Run validation tests before implementing changes
- Commit to development with Agile "Scrum" deployment cycles
- Manage and control the SW build procedure, and make SW builds be delivered to Dev teams
- Respond to support queries/ tickets within agreed SLA's
- Act as a System Administrator - monitor and take care of managed embedded systems
- Preparation of technical documentation
- Role is 8x5 with some flexibility is required for US timezone crossover.
Requirements:
- Software development knowledge using the Python and Linux shell.
- Linux embedded development
- Linux system administration experience
- Knowledge of Linux-Ubuntu - deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting
- Understanding of best practice Dev/Ops
- The ideal candidate will have min 2+ year(s) development experience within a corporate environment.
Desirable Skills:
Networking knowledge
- System integration experience
- Internet of Things knowledge
- Experience of Agile code deployment preferable
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must have full working rights in Ireland i.e. a current Stamp 4 Visa or an EU Passport to be eligible to work in Ireland to be considered for the role.
