Lead/Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract)

Overview

Our Fraud Platform team in Dublin have an exciting opportunity to hire a DevOps expert to work on designing and developing new deployment, automation and testing capabilities on our Fraud Management Platform. The Fraud Platform provides sophisticated business solutions to enable our customers to combat fraud and protect their cardholders.

Role

A DevOps Engineer will ensure operational criteria like system availability, capacity, performance, monitoring, self-healing and deployment automation are implemented throughout the delivery process. Business Operations plays a key role in leading the DevOps transformation within our business through our tooling and by being an advocate for change and standards throughout the development, quality, release, and product organizations.

*Provide detailed technical analysis of product or application hardware and software to ensure that business and functional requirements can be met.
*Provide subject matter expertise for assigned project.
*Ownership of CI/CD pipeline for the team's applications.
*Perform analysis of system requirements, elaborate into user stories and acceptance criteria in an SAFe/Agile methodology format.
*Hunger for Systems and Technical knowledge - constantly analyzing and innovating new, better approaches to our systems.
*Work with a global team spread across tech hubs in multiple geographies and time zones.
*Use Jenkins and XebiaLabs XLR to orchestrate builds as well as link to Sonar, Chef, Maven, Artifactory, etc. to build out the CI/CD pipeline.
*Hands on experience of Chef cookbook development and testing with kitchen.
*Hands on experience of Pivotal's cloud deployment steps, and how its market place services can be integrated into the solution.
*Conduct brown bag sessions on new and upcoming technologies, methodologies and application appropriate frameworks.
*Provide technical training and mentoring to the other team members.
*Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
*Ensure adequate test coverage in Unit Testing, System Testing/Integration Testing and Performance Testing.

*Self-driven, have the ability to analysis the current automation solution, identify gaps, and bring solutions to the team.
*High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in a collaborative (Agile) environment.
*High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities.
*Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative and organization skills.
*Proven experience in technical requirements gathering and documentation.
*Experience with REST based web services; JSON, XML.
*Prior experience with Java and Java Messaging Services (JMS).
*Design and implement a Git based code management strategy that will support multiple environment deployments in parallel.
*Experience with automation for branch management, code promotions, and version management is a plus.
