Your new company is a Global logistics Company, there are industry leaders in all they do! They have an opportunity for an Ocean freight manager to join there thriving energetic team in Shannon.

You will report into the district manager and will be responsible for a team of 5 freight forwarders. You will be a strong people manager, with great customer service and sales skills. You must have skills across a range of areas such as Operations, Finances, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture.
 

Your key responsibilities across all 6 areas will be:

 

People:
*Develop your team and department.
*Conduct Staff appraisals and reports.
* Staff salary reviews.

Operations:
*Oversee the day to day management of the Ocean department.
*Ensure that productivity and profitability goals for ocean department are met
*Have a fundamental understanding of operational systems, including ETMS, ATS
*Train and develop your Ocean team.
*Be responsible for compliance and quality issues for the ocean product within the
branch,

Customer:
*Lead the Ocean sales within the branch.
*50% of time to be spent on sales calls with the branch sales team and retention.
*Understand market pricing.
*Personal involvement with the top 10 ocean customers
*Manage all ocean sales after sales.
*Oversee quotation process for the ocean product
*Develop the sales team with an understanding of Ocean products.
*Weekly sales meetings.

Finance:
*Assist District Manager with preparation of annual department budget.
*Monthly PnL with Branch manager.
*Review, understand and focus on improving department freight yields.
*Manage accounts payable to vendors.
*Review Daily Branch Revenue report (Daily).
*Review any contracts, vendor, customer are reviewed in accordance to company
contract policies prior to being signed.
*Follow company capex procedure for the purchasing of any equipment for your staff or
department.
*Utilize Top 20 Accounts report to continually evaluate the development of you
departmental client base.

Systems:
*Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your department.
*Be involved and suggest system/process improvements.
*Set the tone of this environment within your department

*Strong Ocean Freight Knowledge.
*Good people management knowledge.
*Local market pricing.
