I am recruiting for a Compliance & Data Protection Manager for the AA Ireland. This position will be based at the Head Office in Dublin City Centre.

The AA is one of Ireland's leading consumer services businesses specialising in Motor, Home and Travel services and insurance. With more than half a million customers, they provide emergency rescue and breakdown cover for people on the road and in the home, as well as providing insurance for more than 250,000 customers. Full Job Title: Compliance & Data Protection Manager

Location: Dublin City Centre

Hours: Mon-Fri 08:45 - 17:00

Reporting to: Director Regulatory Affairs Risk & Compliance

 

Job Purpose:

Assist the Director of Regulatory Affairs Risk and Compliance of AA Ireland to deliver an appropriate Regulatory Compliance and Data Protection Risk Management framework and promote a strong compliance culture, consistent with the achievement of AA Ireland's strategic objectives and within risk appetite. Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a strong effective controlled environment and identifying, assessing monitoring and reporting on Compliance and Data Protection risks inherent in the business to senior management and the business.

 

Job Description and Overview:

*Promote the Compliance and Data Protection agenda across AA Ireland. Provision of accurate, reliable and consistent advice to all stakeholders re. all aspects of Compliance and Data Protection law, regulation and practice
*Co-ordination and oversight of Risk Assessments including Data Protection Impact Assessments
*Assist with the design and implementation of the Compliance testing and assurance program. Including the risk-based compliance risk assessment, control testing and assurance plan, and related testing scopes
*Assisting in the investigation of suspected personal data breaches.
*Contribute to Compliance processes by identifying opportunities for improved adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards
*Design and delivery of an organization-wide appropriate Compliance and Data Protection training programs
*Assist in the drafting of responses to Regulators e.g. Data Protection Commissioner in relation to potential personal data breaches, and other matters
*Contribute to the efficient management of Regulatory Affairs Risk function including the Compliance Annual Plan and any amendments thereto. Management Information design and reporting to relevant fora.
*Assist the Director of Regulatory Affairs in the maintenance of the Regulatory Compliance (including Data Protection) Framework including policies, procedures etc.
*Assist with the design and implementation of the Compliance testing and assurance program. Including the risk-based compliance risk assessment, control testing and assurance plan, and related testing scopes including Data Protection with comprehensive record of work done
*Register of and oversight of Risk Assessments including Data Protection Impact Assessments
*Advice and Guidance to AA Ireland functions in relation to Consumer Protection and Data Protection law and practice
*Upstream regulatory compliance management - horizon scanning and tracking of progress of emerging regulation
*Design and carry out tailored training.
*Planning (Annual, 6 monthly) Planning and Management Information reporting at regular intervals
*Contribute to the safe and efficient running of Regulatory Affairs team

 

Your Experience:

*A relevant third level qualification (business, law or other)
*LCOI
*Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) would be desirable
*At least 4 years' experience in a Compliance / (must include Data Protection) role
*Experience in a risk / regulatory compliance role
*Ability to work autonomously and pro-actively in identifying issues and offering solutions
*Subject matter expert in Compliance (Conduct of Business/ Consumer Protection) and Data Protection law and practice
*Good presentation, documentation and report writing and communication skills.
