Purchasing Manager

My client is the leading distributor of retail goods. They are looking to recruit a purchasing manager to join the and manage their small team. You will be in charge of a team of 2 strategic buyers, with a spend of up to €7 million. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in purchasing, degree educated and has experience in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan and implement sourcing and purchasing strategies
• Work with suppliers and internal departments
• Ensure lead times on the system are correct, and allow for production to run smoothly
• Maintain a database of approved suppliers
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Negotiate pricing.
• Search and source potential suppliers and vendors
• Track, measure and analyze company expenditures
• Determine and track KPIs
• Provide regular reports for upper management
• Adhere to laws, rules and regulations

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Educated to degree level, preferably Supply chain or Business
• Proven track record in Purchasing
• Leadership qualities
• Driven
• Experience with Sage systems
• Experience in retail buying
