About the Role

Working as part of our Defence Systems Technology (DST) business we're looking for a Systems Engineer to join us. DST forms a critical part of Babcock's Marine organisation. Working across a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, our 1,500 strong team operate from a number of sites across the UK and internationally ensuring our global customer portfolio is always supported.

Defence Systems Technology (DST) is transforming and we need you to support our key leaders in forging new paths, leading their teams through exciting, but sometimes challenging change.

The Air Defence and Missiles team have an ambitious strategy for which the successful candidate will be directly supporting. The AD&M Senior ILS Engineer will be assisting our Service Delivery Manager to deliver and grow existing contracts, as well as pursue and secure new opportunities. They will be expected to invest time to develop junior members of the team and be an expert voice when representing ILS interests at project meetings. To deliver ILS contracted deliverables across all Air Defence projects.

This is a highly rewarding position working within a market leading defence engineering organisation that will give you the opportunity to develop your skills and experience across a variety of high profile projects.

Role requirements

We would like applicants to have all or some experience with the below tasks;

*Conduct Logistic Support Analysis
*Develop Integrated Supply Support
*Liaise with Inventory Management
*Produce and review Technical Documentation
*Conduct and oversee Maintenance Planning
*Identification of Support and Test Equipment
*Conduct Availability, Reliability and Maintainability analysis and produce supporting reports
*Manage Training and Training Support Equipment
*Identify suitable Packaging Handling Storage and Transportation
*Conduct and manage Disposal
*Manage Obsolescence
*Ensure H,S&E aspects are considered and applied, this includes both Babcock employees and sub-contractors.
*Provide support to bidding and other business winning activities.

What do I need to do the role?

*You're someone who thrives on challenge, is a driven individual who wishes to make a positive impact and a desire to see successful outcomes. You feel at ease working collaboratively with internal and external customers, yet happy to lead where necessary.
*Be a good communicator, both written and oral, and able to liaise at all levels with customers/stakeholders.
*Suitably qualified to HNC as minimum.

What else do I need to know?

*The role will be based at either our Devonport (Plymouth) or Bristol sites.
*We practice a flexible approach to working which includes the choice to work away from the office or change working hours.
*Full time permanent position.
