Geotechnical Design Engineer.

£35,000 - £45,000 (+ flexible working).

Bristol (M4 / M5 area).

With multiple sites in the UK and an orderbook bursting with contracts, my client is a leading civil, structural and geotechnical engineering consultancy with a great reputation. This forward-thinking practice houses some of the best names in the industry; all attracted to the business by its great company culture, un-matched career development opportunities and access to a diverse range of exciting projects.

Due to the acquisition of a number of major new contracts; coupled with strategic expansion, my client is now looking for a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join their talented team in Bristol and work on creative and technical solutions for their clients in the rail, highways, buildings and housing sectors. Does this sound like the type of secure company that can offer you the challenging and rewarding career prospects you are seeking?

As a Geotechnical Design Engineer, you will work closely and collaboratively with the civil and structural teams to deliver the most effective and efficient solutions to clients. You will be integral to the full-end-to-end process of engineering, from producing options for complex problems, through permanent works design and into temporary works for construction.

In an ideal world, we would like to find someone with a minimum of three years' relevant experience, who possesses expertise in some (or hopefully all) of the following:

  • Slope stability (soil and rock).
  • Deep and shallow foundation design.
  • Settlement analysis.
  • Derivation of soil and rock parameters for design.
  • Excellent understanding of EC7 and associated standards for design.

Additional training will however, be provided for someone at the slightly earlier stages of their career, with the potential to get up-to-speed quickly. Regardless of previous experience, you will be proactive and diligent by nature and have a keen eye for detail.

The team are always rewarded for their hard efforts and benefit from remuneration packages, above market rates. For this particular role, my client is offering a starting salary of £35,000 - £45,000, plus an excellent benefits package, flexible start-times and the opportunity to work several days per week, from home.

The role is realistically commutable from Bristol, Bath, Stroud, Chippenham and the surrounding areas and the area offers sensibly priced accommodation and a variety of lifestyle options to suit almost any taste.

If this role is of interest to you, or if you would like further information regarding the opportunity, please apply online.
