Health and Safety Manager

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for all the activities related to Health and Safety. The mission of this position is to support functional areas within GWWO by providing advice on a range of Health and Safety issues, sharing best practices with colleagues and driving continuous improvement on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Lead and support initiatives to increase Health and Safety efficiency

· Management of the Health and Safety Management System.

· Support a site behavioural safety program

· Compliance monitoring

· Chemical approvals & Bio-safety

· Industrial Hygiene, ergonomics

· Management systems, risk assessments, business continuity and crisis management or

auditing

· Project management, permit to work, COHE or MS review

· Emergency Organisation, first aid or incident investigation lead

· Departmental Communications

· Lead site initiatives and programmes.

REQUIREMENTS

· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

· Ability to influence, lead teams and promote a team environment.

· Demonstrate effective leadership skills.

· Ability to understand big picture and willingness to contribute.

· Bachelor's Degree in related field.

· 5+ years experience in a similar role
