About the role

The role will be supporting the newly formed Training Business Unit, which consists of Defence Training, Civil Training, London Fire Brigade Training and Metropolitan Police Service Training, lines of Business. Working with the wider Training P&SC community, the candidate will understand the training technology market to identify innovative products in support of current contracts and future growth, enhancing the capability of the business unit.

The successful candidate will be grasping an excellent opportunity in what is a very exciting time for Babcock.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a talented individual with extensive experience in procurement & supply chain, particularly anyone who has worked in the IT or Training categories. The individual will have a proven track record in the delivery of innovative supply chains have excellent project skills and the ability to work alongside a diverse and multi-disciplinary team. Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, interpersonal and influencing skills will help this person be successful.

What will I be doing?

  • Promote innovation by bringing a transformational mind-set to the P&SC function, influencing others to build consensus behind initiatives and to challenge the status quo.
  • Lead on the production of a 'supply chain pipeline of innovation and technology' in support of current and future contracts.
  • Work with the P&SC community to ensure that existing Babcock supplier relationships and capability are leveraged, wherever possible.
  • Provide high-quality P&SC materials for inclusion in bids, business cases, customer proposals to reflect the best in training technology and innovation.
  • Identify the most appropriate supply chain to deliver the capability required to support current contacts and new business opportunities.
  • Creating and delivering sustainable value - increasing quality, service & capability whilst reducing cost, working capital and lead times.

The experience you'll bring

  • Extensive experience in procurement & supply chain
  • Training and/or IT category management experience
  • MCIPS / CIPS is desirable but not essential
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Succesful applicants will be required to complete security clearance (SC)
