The Full Stack JavaScript Tech Lead will focus on the development of frameworks and practices that will be leveraged across the organization. This is a great opportunity to be an early contributor to agile engineering solutions that will be used by many technical teams across a large organization. This role will report into the Development COE Principle Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a collaborative developer comfortable in an Agile environment.
  • Be a lifelong learner with an appetite for improving your craft, introducing change, and collaborating with like-minded colleagues.
  • Create and maintain best practice development frameworks and establish standards including modern development tools.
  • Develop tools to accelerate developer on-boarding, increase overall code quality and reduce time to market.
  • Develop practices and guidelines to improve consistency and reuse of code.
  • Assist the COE in analysing the development capabilities within the firm and identify opportunities to centralize and consolidate common functionality to shared services.



Minimum Requirements
A Full Stack JavaScript Developer that has significant experience of software delivery using Agile methodologies.

  • 5+ years of application development experience with a track record of delivering high quality software to production.
  • Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of refactoring, design patterns, design driven development, continuous integration, system and application design, application security.
  • An appreciation of RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with SQL and/or No-SQL databases.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines to deploy applications.
  • Good communication, leadership and collaboration skills.



Desirable Qualities:

  • An eagerness to get "under the hood" with technology.
  • Understanding of unit testing and commitment to cover all code with unit tests.
  • Exposure to contemporary application development stacks such as MEAN, MERN, and other emerging open source technologies.
  • Experience working with Agile and Continuous Delivery approaches, such as Continuous Integration, TDD, Infrastructure as Code, etc.
