Overview:
We are hiring a Programme Manager-Field Operations for our client who is a market-leading smart grid technology and services company based in Limerick.

This position is a hybrid working model and is a Full Time/Permanent job.

Our client manages a portfolio of more than 180 MW of Demand Response resources, providing capacity and DS3 system services in the island-of-Ireland Single Electricity Market, and has recently entered the market to provide ancillary services in the National Electricity Market in Australia.

The services that our client provides are a vital tool for Transmission System Operators managing the power system and a key enabler to facilitating increasing levels of renewable generation technologies on the rapidly transforming grid.

As a leading provider of Demand Response services, with market leading in-house technologies and systems continually being developed and optimised, our client has an attractive opportunity for a Programme Manager to join their growing team as part of its exciting international expansion.

The Role:
You will be employed primarily as a Programme Manager. You will report to the Head of Field Operations, whilst delivering services to Field Operations across the company.

You will play a critical role in developing and executing projects to support our client international expansion into new markets. This will involve the management of interactions with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external to the company, as necessary to ensure successful market entry.

This role will primarily focus on the company's activities in new jurisdictions outside of Ireland but will also extend to supporting the company's activities in the Irish market.

You will work closely with the Head of Field Operations to implement initiatives to support scaling to effectively support their regional markets in the delivery of our client's services.

You will be required to be flexible in this position and must be prepared to undertake such duties as may be assigned to you by the company from time to time. Such duties may be outside your normal area of work.

Responsibilities:

  • Review process methodology to identify areas for improvement through process revision and automation.
  • Prepare specifications for software tooling to support process scaling across global markets.
  • Work closely with our client to specify and implement software solutions to meet the business needs.
  • Manage interactions with the software development team to deliver software projects.
  • Identify requirements for a Field Service Management system to allow for multiregional deployment management and reporting.
  • Identify requirements for a Logistics Management system to manage product stock inventory and deployed systems across all regions.
  • Develop metrics across all aspects of service delivery to implement standardised performance measurement and reporting across all regions.
  • Develop onboarding package for new markets to provide for all market needs in terms of equipment, training, contractor and supplier procurement, compliance, resourcing etc to support in-country teams.
  • Manage regional training programme development and delivery in association with regional Field Operations Managers.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of the local Field Operations Managers, providing necessary process, software tools and training as necessary.
  • Ensuring the delivery of projects' objectives to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan.
  • Any other projects identified as key to business development.
  • Perform other duties as required from time to time.

Job requirements/Desired knowledge or certification:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in a science or engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in relevant sector (ideally in the electricity sector).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration & organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capability including data analysis and presentation.
  • Proven leadership capability.
  • Pragmatic, professional and self-motivated with the ability to be office-based and to work remotely.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Engineering background with in-depth knowledge of power generation and electrical systems.
  • Excellent process development skills with experience of LEAN, Agile etc.
