Business Change Project Lead

The Role

The main purpose of the role is to deliver the SAP implementation project through effective Change Management and strong Governance

 

Key role of the Business Project Lead (BPL) would be

  • Drive Change-Management in LSDI organisation
  • Ensure current processes are clearly understood within central project team
  • ensure proper conversation from local KU's (key users) into central team
  • ensure current processes are clearly documented and understood - clear scoping of project
  • Single point of contact (SPOC) for alignment into central team - ensuring questions from central team are answered
  • BPL does not need to have knowledge in all area's - for operational questions BPL needs to rely on Key User (KU) for each area (SOURCE, PLAN, MAKE, FIN, LOGISTICS, etc)
  • Drive all phases where business-alignment is key (see below under project plan which phases are crucial for this)
  • Special attention on this for UAT phase
  • Agree on availability of local KU
  • Create UAT Plan
  • Drive actual UAT-testing (including 3rd party where relevant)
  • Drive changes at third parties such as 3P warehouse automation and integration
  • Special attention wrt non mountain-model to be deployed - for example ownership for raw/pack stock
  • Drive timely decisions on options around central vs local management of processes such as Finance / Procurement / Planning
  • Drive cutover from current to new process - this is mentioned explicitly as this is the "physical move" where (example)
  • Purchase orders move from old to new system
  • Planned orders move from old to new system
  • Vendors/Contracts etc go live
  • Drive Governance for the end-2-end changes between LSDI, Unilever and Pepsi Lipton International
  • Continuous alignment of project scope, deliverables, main changes/choices between project team and Business stakeholders (Unilever and Pepsi Lipton International)
  • Governance into 3rd parties (such as external warehouse)
  • Ensure sign-off of functional design of new SAP processes (process alignment new vs current - including 3rd parties etc)
  • Create/Maintain project plan for complete project
  • Analyse - kick-off, define/agree on current processes
  • Design - agree on new design - end step being functional design
  • Build - co-ordinate with central team
  • Test - local, this UAT phase is crucial phase, where local reps (including 3rd parties) need to be available to do testing of new process
  • Deploy - co-ordinate with central team, get configuration in SAP
  • Go-live
  • Technical Go Live
  • Business Go Live - this might be a period of time after technical go-live depending on business availability
  • PGLS - post go live support - central; supporting local team for 6 - 8 weeks to ensure all processes are working smoothly

 

The candidate - Key characteristics will include:

  • Strong Change Management skills
  • Project Management & Project Governance experience
  • Problem resolution / escalation
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of setting and achieving targets / deadlines themselves as well as motivating others to do so
  • Flexible and responsive to change
  • Ability to work on own initiative
