Overview:

We are hiring an Embedded Development Product Owner for our client who is a market-leading smart grid technology and services company based in Limerick.

Through them, large electricity customers actively participate in the electricity market to generate revenue in return for providing valuable services that help support the power grid's reliability.


Together, their clients can provide more power to the grid than some of the country's large power stations.

These services are delivered via our custom-designed control and communication systems.


Their state-of-the-art systems are designed to provide the fast frequency response services that are needed to facilitate increased integration of renewable energy on the power grid.

The company was recently named the fastest-growing technology company in Ireland at the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards in 2019.They are beginning to expand globally, with plans to implement energy system services in several other countries.

 

The Role:
Our client is recruiting a range of multidisciplinary engineers. You will be joining a team of talented engineers and will collaborate extensively with the wider Innovation team in Ireland and Poland.


As a Product Owner in the Embedded Development Team, you will be responsible for creating detailed specifications for metering and control systems. You will also work closely with other Business Units to ensure that the systems being developed deliver maximum value to the company and the power grid.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of metering and control systems development and maintenance.
  • Work with the Team to translate the roadmap features into a manageable product backlog.
  • Prepare items for prioritization while collaborating with the Head of the Department and other Product Owners. This entails prioritising the backlog on a feature level.
  • Create and clearly describe product backlog items.
  • Structure and prioritize the items in the product backlog to best achieve goals.
  • You will follow the guidelines of strategic product management.



Job requirements/Desired knowledge or certification:

  • 3 years of relevant experience in development/testing of electronic systems.
  • Good knowledge of Electronic Product Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience of using requirement management and bug tracking tools.
  • Ability to plan and organize your work.
  • Dependability and a structured working method.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.



Desirable:

  • Experience with metering devices development.
  • Knowledge of Metrology.
  • Smart Grid Experience.
  • C/C++ understanding.
  • Degree or higher in electronic or electrical engineering.
  • Understanding of electronic schematics.
