Accounting Manager/Team Lead
I am recruiting for an Accounts Team Lead for a growing, dynamic construction group operating within the Leinster and Midlands regions. My client is working on multiple large projects at the moment and looking for someone who to take this exciting opportunity and be part of this fast-moving company.

The role:

Manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. This person will manage the accounts' function, payroll function, monthly closing of accounts and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Interacts at all levels to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual report
  • Responsible accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements.
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud
  • Prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget
  • Actively review and advise on financial/accounting processes.


Requirements:

  • IATI qualification or ACCA member with minimum 5 years' experience in a similar management role.
  • Experience in construction/engineering industry previously.
  • Confident in managing finance function, including processing RCT/ managing RCT
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Sage 50 software would be a bonus
  • Happy to work in the office 5 days per week
