Role- Infrastructure Support Specialist / Lab Technician
Location- Leixlip, Co. Kildare

Salary - Negotiable Depending on Experience

Our client is seeking a savvy, motivated and talented Infrastructure Specialist to join the technical support department of an expanding and fast-paced IT team. Working from a modern, open plan office; expect an exciting and varied role delivering day to day IT Support and projects.

The Scope of work includes initial installation/configuration, changes, ongoing maintenance and monitoring and issues and break/fix.

The candidate should be technically competent, possess excellent written and communication skills and be willing to collaborate effectively and efficiently with the wider Global IT support teams, you will play a 1 year fix term contract role, on-site based in Leixlip, Ireland ensuring the delivery of great customer service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hardware landing, move and end-of-line including assembling and disassembling
  • Hardware upgrades and parts replacements
  • Hardware troubleshooting and issues resolution including searching for suitable replacement parts, engaging with external vendors & internal support teams
  • Firmware/remote management capabilities updates
  • Lab Assets/Capacity tracking and reporting
  • OS installation using internal and external builds, automated and manual OS provisioning techniques, procedures, and customer requirements
  • Performing OS configuration, software installations, troubleshooting and issues resolution including issues related to network, authentication, remote access etc.
  • Configuring OS install and post-install customisation automations according to customer requirements
  • Performing security patching and security compliance configurations including working with users to schedule downtime
  • Enabling and supporting virtualization solutions in labs at both hypervisor and VMs level


Essential skills and personal qualities:

  • 1- 2 years working in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills (English) both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience in use of test and measurement equipment
  • Understanding of both Windows and Linux environments
  • Understanding of networking protocols and the configuration of devices on a network
  • Experience in Scripting language (e.g. Bash, DOS, PowerShell, Python, Perl)
  • Network Admin experience


Desired Skills:

  • Any related I.T certifications eg. ITIL/CCNA/CompTIA + etc
