As the Purchasing Administrator, you will:

  • Support the buyers in defining key business requirements
  • Monitor and report on supplier capabilities
  • Be responsible for expediting purchase orders to ensure the delivery of products are met
  • Contact suppliers to resolve possible shortages, missed or late deliveries and any other discrepancies
  • Review overdue orders, notifying of any significant delays from suppliers
  • Assist the buyers with product replenishment, matching inventory levels with the needs of our customers
  • Responsibility for all aspects of work-flow related to the Sub-Contract operations
  • Expedite activities / Purchase Orders / items at various approved vendors to meet the manufacturing requirement as defined by the Head of Sub Contract Services
  • Liaise with Suppliers on a regular basis to ensure supplier performance is in line with expectations
  • Maintain the upkeep of accurate information in relation to:

  • Sub Contract Suppliers
  • Overall Vendor performance
  • Communicate information to relevant parties, (both internal and external)
  • Raise Purchase Orders for Sub-Contract operations
  • Work within budgetary requirements
  • Proactively identify, communicate and implement corrective action plans when schedule goes 'off-target'

Key Skills

  • Supply Chain background preferred
  • IT Literate - ideally IT qualification
  • English and Mathematics - GCSE or above
  • Polite but forthright telephone manner
  • Positive outlook with the personality and drive to achieve results
  • Full driving licence preferable but not essential
