Health & Safety Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Assistant to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum, based at their manufacturing facility in Crumlin, Caerphilly, South Wales.

This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 12 months with possibility of extension, working a 40-hour week, (Mon-Fri) to start ASAP. This role is paying up to £36,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

*Due to the urgent nature of this role, we cannot accept any applications that have a longer notice period of 1 month!!

The primary purpose of this role will be to assist the Project Manager with the day-to-day activities. The this a site role 8:00 - 16:00 five days per week with possibility of needing to work some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Work with contractors- meeting on-site & ensuring correct PPE
• A flexible approach to work with a can-do attitude as the role will require you to undertrack a variety of task from sourcing materials
• Ability to conduct site safety audits
• Placing orders
• Helping out to clear areas
• Communication phoning vendors

This would be an ideal position for somebody who would like to move into a project engineer role in the future. The level of opportunity very much depends on your willingness to take on more responsibility. Ideal after a few months we would see this role evolving to you would start to manage small projects

Skills & Experience

• Background - Minimum 1 years' experience in Manufacturing/Industrial ideally held a position in safety, auditing, technical
• Qualification - SSSTS, IOSH or equivalent
• IT Skills - Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel
• Communication Skill - Happy dealing with contractors
