Overview of the role:
Our client is looking for a highly motivated Senior DevOps engineer with knowledge of deploying and monitoring various infrastructure projects on bare metal with an added advantage of cloud experience. Supporting and maintaining a micro service architecture which allows to deploy in a zero down-time manner.

Knowledge of best practices for Cloud Native infrastructure management and operations with a view to migrate current services to Cloud based.

Responsibilities:

• Updating to new Docker releases.
• Maintaining and monitoring the health of the swarm.
• Monitoring the execution of 50+ microservices and its backend databases.
• Troubleshooting P1, P2 and P3 issues on the complete solution stack.
• Updating the Docker base images/containers with newer versions ex. Newer log4j, java, kernel etc.
• Administering the Nexus artifact server and its repositories, rotating/replacing the SSL certificates etc.
• Monitoring the health of the cluster and the indexes with ELK stack.
• Maintaining the data integrity (import, export, document manipulation etc.)
• Verifying the index contents from its downstream systems.
• Performing upgrades on the ELK stack.
• Fine tuning ES/index setting.

Experience Required:

• Experience building and supporting a microservice architecture.
• Experience with running server orchestration solutions in production (Docker Swarm).
• Strong knowledge of developing CI / CD pipelines and with associated tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/Project, Nexus for Docker Swarm creation and support.
• GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus toolset support.
• Experience working and supporting Elasticsearch and ELK stack (ES, Logstash, Kibana)
• Experience in automation via scripting and configuration management tools such as Chef.
• Significant knowledge of Linux
• Experience with a cloud platform: AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP
• Experience with Nginx or Apache web proxy.

Other Skills:

• Self-starter / autonomy is a must.
• Ability to communicate effectively to different stakeholders (peers, product management, change & release management & DBA teams)
• Have mentored software engineers to help improve their skills, efficiency, and productivity is an advantage.
