The role

The difference our new Cost Engineer will make
As a Cost Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll be responsible for the accurate tracking of actuals against forecasting and variance analysis within a number of projects working with our client EDF, supporting Project Managers with production analysis of cost performance and overall outturn.

Day to day, you'll focus on maintaining and controlling scope/budgets for the projects with forecasting and actual costs against them, providing necessary commentary. You will also support the Project Managers with the provision of change management and risk & opportunity management.

Essential experience

* Extensive recent and relevant experience within a cost engineering/control role within a relevant business sector
* Extensive experience applying budgeting & cost control in a complex environment
* Awareness of various contracting methodologies (e.g. FIDIC/NEC3-4/JCT etc.) including resolution of claims and disputes
* Knowledge of cost management techniques, earned value management and estimating and can demonstrate a high level of experience with Microsoft Excel
* Good understanding of financial implications, which affect profit and loss accounts, balance sheet and cash
* Must be able to achieve SC clearance (BPSS to start)
