A world class manufacturer of advanced composite materials are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Process Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding and application of process engineering within a manufacturing setting. You will be well versed with continuous improvements methods such as kaizen, Six Sigma, and other lean manufacturing methodologies. Additionally, you will have gain experience with the entire manufacturing life-cycle looking at Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manufacturing Manager with the development of new product introduction (NPI) and existing products
  • Provide support with commissioning, product development and plant processes
  • Implement process improvement in order to reduce costs as well as improve productivity and quality
  • Responsible for bills of materials (BOMS)
  • Investigating any machinery / process or product performance and quality problems. Carrying out root-cause analysis, identifying and implementing permanent solutions
  • Review designs through design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD
  • Use of process risk and hazard assessments tools such as PFMEA, FMEA, HAZOP
  • Project plan and allocation of resources to achieve strategic project objectives
  • Make recommendations for best practices through the analysis of data
  • Be proactively involved with the improvement of Quality Management Systems
  • Responsible for generating and approving robust documentation and specification associated with validations
  • Engage with customers to gather requirements and specifications
  • Liaise closely with key suppliers which may include OEM and maintenance of plant machinery

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree or relevant industry background within a manufacturing/production setting
  • Understanding of Lean & Six Sigma principles
  • Knowledge around process risk, application risk and hazard assessments i.e. FMEA, HAZOP
  • An understanding of material science would be beneficial but not essential
  • Design experience of 2D & 3D CAD, SolidWorks would be beneficial
  • Working to industry standards i.e. ISO9001 2015
  • Proficient in data analysis
  • Good IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, customers as well as suppliers
