Role: Principal Mechanical Engineer
Field: Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Design, Revit/AutoCAD/M&E/Building Services/MEP/CIBSE /Property Services/IET/ASHRAE
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 - Dependant on Experience

Due to continual growth a leading MEP Consultancy are looking to appoint a Principal Mechanical Engineer. This Impressive firm for over 60 years has continued to overcome some of the toughest design challenges through innovation and problem solving.
The ideal candidate with have previous experience covering various project types and be familiar with UK building services standards. You will have excellent technical knowledge of building service design as well as being commercially astute with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering across Civil/Construction Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Drawing up specifications, producing reports and managing project progress
- Lead on Mechanical services design on large scale projects, acting as Mechanical Lead
- Work also across MEP sectors such as science & research, healthcare projects, commercial and residential
- Attend Project meetings
- Designing mechanical engineering systems with the use of design software packages i.e. AutoCAD, Revit
- Managing existing client relationships and well as developing new clients
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills when leading your team by providing mentoring, supervision, guidance and support
- Lead or support the development of strategic level projects
- Mentor and develop individual team members as well as contribute to their professional development Project manage and manage critical budgets
- As required carry out calculations and review designs
- Manage various projects both across the UK and Internationally as well as manage and lead an engineering team
- Prioritise workloads
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering or with relevant experience in a similar working environment
- Previous background with a UK consultancy with a good understanding of BIM
- Knowledge and use of design packages such as AutoCAD and Revitt
- A strong leader and mentor
- Strong project management, budgeting skills and leadership skills
- Understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process
- Awareness of building regulations standard - BS and EN
- Knowledge around BREEAM and SBEM principles
