Automation Engineer


Pay: £35,000 to £45,000 (dependent on salary and experience)


We are currently recruiting for an ambitious and adventurous individual interested in traveling around the UK and International from time to time to meet certain clients needs.


Manpower Engineering are partnering up with a client based in Essex who design and assemble filling and packaging lines for aerosols typically within the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic industries.


The basic equipment is made by our principals in Switzerland. Our client incorporates this and other machines into the lines, linking them with our own conveyors, enclosures, electrical control systems and ancillary equipment. All panel building, wiring and PLC programming is done on site and other departments specialise in machine assembly, commissioning, and documentation.


The ideal candidate?

    Experience is always valued, although for this role, a firm grounding in control systems and PLC based control, would make an ideal candidate. Initially, the successful candidate will work alongside the Automation Technicians, to gain experience and training on our machines and control systems and design. Training will be provided to familiarise the successful applicant with the specialist machinery and equipment they supply.The role would involve working with our electricians and panel builders to assist in the design and build the control systems and machine builds.


Typical duties as follows -

    Designing PLC based electrical control systems from design specifications.Programming PLC, Touchscreen, and Safety Configurable relay systems. Configuring Remote I/O, servo motor and inverter drivesIntegrating ancillary equipment into the production lines such as vision systems etc. Fault finding electrical control systems, PLC, and hardwired systems Commissioning, support, and service work at customers' sites


What can you expect?


Once trained and familiar with our machines the role would involve taking on projects from initial design to on site run up and commissioning.


A certain amount of travel is required to support our worldwide customer base
