Laboratory Assistant

Manpower is looking for a Laboratory Assistant for a client based at the Oxford Science Park. This is an exciting new role either short term for a student, or a potential long-term role for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will a scientific education.

Details:

• Hourly rate : £13.00 per hour
• Shift pattern: 9.00am to 5.30pm, including a one-hour break, on Mondays to Fridays ( some overtime available during busier periods)
• Location: Oxford Science Park, free parking on site
• Length of assignment: immediate start until September ( if a graduate) or a potential for temp to perm for the right person.

Duties include:

• Checking equipment and stock levels and ordering supplies as required
• Sterilising, calibrating and setting up lab equipment
• Labelling, sorting and storing lab samples
• Monitoring and reporting on experiments when required
• Disposing of waste and storing lab equipment after use
• Answering telephone and email enquiries on the Lab Supervisor's behalf as required
• Performing laboratory testing
• Clerical tasks including printing and filing reports and data entry
