Penetration Tester

Role Overview:
The successful candidate for this role will be working closely with like-minded individuals as part of the Penetration Testing Team and will be supporting and often taking the lead on Technical Reviews of solutions requiring a penetration test to establish what the scope is, any pre-requisites, and complexity of the tests.
The role holder will require excellent communication skills and will collaborate closely with internal teams and third parties.
Technical acumen and knowledge in various network security technologies is a must, for the person who is successful in this role will be required to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills:
- Subject matter expertise in, and hands-on experience with various security and network security technologies (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, network isolation, etc.).
- Experience with Windows and Linux server Operating Systems and Cloud platforms.
- Deep Analytical capabilities and an inquisitive mind, to identify potential vulnerabilities, architecture or process design flaws, or violations of best practices in the application of cybersecurity controls.
- Experience in interpreting industry best practices, cyber risk management, security compliance requirements, and audit reports, and in planning or making recommendations for the remediation of audit findings in the realm of cybersecurity and data privacy.
- Significant work experience with infrastructure, network, cloud, and application solutions.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Significant prior experience in communicating with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong decision making and negotiation skills.
Desired Skills:
- Prior involvement in penetration testing, whether hands-on, coordination, scoping, support, quality assurance, or using commonly used penetration testing tools (e.g., NMAP, Nessus, Node Zero, App scan, Burp Suite, etc. for assessing IT solutions' security posture.
- Experience interpreting OWASP and CVSS resources and familiarity with secure coding best practices.
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes and application containerization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- PC literacy, including desktop and collaboration application competency (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Chrome, etc.).
- Ability to work independently, but as a team toward common goals.
- Quick to learn new concepts and technologies.
- Problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work on multiple focus points in parallel and interact with different team members.
