Job Summary: Our client a Global Supply Chain & Logistics Company are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our finance team, focusing predominantly on Accounts Payable. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the purchase ledger and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Logging and Registering Invoices: Accurately log and register purchase ledger invoices into the accounting system and ensure they are distributed to the appropriate departments for approval.
- Supplier Payments Management: Set up and manage supplier payments within the financial system, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Supplier Statement Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of key supplier statements to ensure all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
- Remittance Communication: Email remittance advice to suppliers following payment runs, maintaining clear and professional communication.
- Processing Payment Runs: Organise and execute regular payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed efficiently and on schedule.
- Invoice Query Resolution: Address and resolve any invoice queries promptly, liaising with suppliers and internal departments as necessary.
- Bank Reconciliation: Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of the financial records, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Accounts Payable role, demonstrating a solid understanding of purchase ledger processes.
- Interpersonal: Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Multitasking: Proven ability to multitask and prioritise daily work requirements effectively.
- Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Experience with electronic payment systems
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
