Job description

GENERAL TECHNICIAN

ManpowerGroup are recruiting for General Technician roles with our client based in Tuam ,Co Galway.
Working as part of the Production Team, that provides sufficient support to allow consistent achievement of TRP and TLR targets, Preventative maintenance tasks to be completed on schedule .

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to companies safe-working requirements: wearing of PPE, LOTO procedure, knowledge of and/or participation in emergency response teams, maintenance of machines in safe condition, maintenance of equipment safety features. Follow-up on safety-related tasks as assigned.
  • Provide a level of support to Production such that theTRP andTLR targets are consistently achieved :
      • Respond to unscheduled downtime/defective-product situations promptly
      • Be able to specify/document/communicate the problem clearly [5W2H]
      • Be able to put an effective Containment in place : return the process to making good parts. Follow up with permanent corrective action as required.
      • Adhere to Line QRQC standard.
      • Application of Escalation Procedure
      • Establish the root cause. Application of Logical thinking. Be able to use equipment schematics, manuals, etc in the course of establishing root cause. Adhere to troubleshooting standards.
      • Correct the problem
      • Log all equipment downtime and generate DT reports each shift
      • Support ERIM process
      • Document and communicate all Spare Parts consumed. Highlight any spare parts related issues.
      • Work with Spare Parts Technician to optimise spare parts inventory, cost, supplier reduction, etc
      • Ensure the relevant information is shared effectively across all shifts and among all required groups.
      • Ensure an effective shift handover occurs at the start/end of each shift
      • Complete preventative maintenance tasks to schedule. Update PM records. Ensure spares/consumables required for PM-activity are in stock.
      • Adhere to 5S requirements in both production and Technician work areas.
      • Feedback to the relevant Test Engineers issues concerning the performance of Test Equipment.
      • Support initiatives to improve process/equipment performance
      • Support initiatives to reduce setup and changeover times - CMAT/ICT/Function Testers/Fisheye
      • Provide training to other technicians.

Education

  • Certificate or Diploma in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Additional on-the-job training will be provided -
  • Agilent i5000 ICT platform
  • GPIB, RS232, PCIO interfaces
  • C++, Windows, UNIX programming
  • Automotive protocols: K-Line, CAN, LIN
  • SMT
  • Deprag automatic screw-insertion
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic control systems
  • Experience of automotive electronics manufacturing standards


Professional Experience

  • 2-3 years experience working in in a manufacturing environment ,Preferably within the electronics industry
  • Working knowledge of both In-circuit and Functional test
  • Strong background in PC-based testing -Software ,Hardware installation
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
