Job Title: Programming Data Analyst
Location: Ireland-Remote

Client Overview
Our client is a major financial agency of the United Nations, and an international financial institution funded by 191 member countries, with headquarters in Washington, D.C

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • A bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field is required.
    • A master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience:
    • 1 to 3 years of overall experience in Information Technology.
    • Candidates may be recent graduates of a master's program or bachelor's program with relevant internship experience.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Exceptional interpersonal abilities.
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a group setting.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in C# and VBA programming is essential, as the role involves development of applications that integrate financial data repositories.
    • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required, including:
      • Pivot Tables
      • Advanced Excel Functions
      • VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP
      • Chart creation and modification
      • Excel Macros
      • VBA scripting for automation and enhancement
    • Familiarity with VB, VB.NET, and other scripting languages.
    • Basic scripting experience with Python.
    • General knowledge of personal computer operating systems and enterprise network environments.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with macroeconomic and financial data is a plus but not required.
    • Ability to work independently under pressure while maintaining high attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain code in C# and VBA to support economic data analysis tools and applications.
  • Assist economists with complex Excel tasks and provide customized solutions through advanced spreadsheet functions and macros.
  • Collaborate with economic staff to understand business requirements and streamline data workflows.
  • Retrieve and manipulate economic data by creating efficient macros and Excel add-ins to support research and analysis.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for Excel-related queries and issues across the organization.
  • Conduct training sessions and support enterprise-wide users in maximizing their use of Excel and related tools.
  • Maintain a proactive, service-oriented attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow within the organization.
  • Support and troubleshoot Excel-related issues as they arise, ensuring optimal performance of data-driven processes.
