Job description
Quality & Environmental Manager
Kildare, Ireland | Manufacturing | Leadership Role
Build Better. Lead Change. Make an Impact.
This is not a "keep things ticking" quality role.
This is an opportunity to shape standards, drive sustainability, and influence how products are made in a modern construction materials manufacturing environment.
We're partnering with a Kildare-based manufacturing business at the forefront of construction products, seeking an experienced manufacturing professional who understands both quality and environmental performance at plant level and knows how to improve them.
The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of Quality & Environmental Management Systems across a complex manufacturing operation, ensuring:
- Products consistently meet high performance and compliance standards
- Environmental impact is actively reduced, not just managed
- The site aligns with group sustainability and operational goals
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll influence production, people, and process.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and evolving Quality & Environmental systems across manufacturing operations
- Driving ISO compliance (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and external audits
- Championing continuous improvement through Lean, Kaizen, and operational initiatives
- Ensuring full compliance with EPA licences and environmental regulations
- Reducing product issues and improving customer satisfaction
- Representing the site in group-level quality forums and benchmarking initiatives
- Supporting energy efficiency and sustainability projects
- Acting as a technical authority in quality and environmental matters
What We're Looking For
You are an experienced manufacturing professional, ideally from construction products or heavy industrial environments, with:
- Strong background in both Quality AND Environmental management
- Proven experience in manufacturing (cement, concrete, fibre cement, metals, or similar)
- Deep understanding of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
- Experience leading audits, compliance, and system improvements
- A track record of driving measurable improvements in product quality or environmental performance
- Confidence to challenge, influence, and lead change on-site
What Makes This Role Different
- You'll have real ownership, not just responsibility
- You'll operate in a business where quality and sustainability matter commercially
- You'll be part of a site leadership team driving continuous improvement
- You'll play a key role in shaping long-term environmental strategy
The Fit
This role suits someone who:
- Enjoys being on the floor, not just behind a desk
- Can balance technical detail with leadership influence
- Wants to step into a role with visibility and impact
