Senior Manager, Travel & Expense (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)

The Senior Manager, Travel & Expense (12 Months Fixed Term Contract) will provide strategic leadership and operational direction for the Global Travel & Expense (T&E) program. Reporting directly to the Head of Global Procurement, this individual will act as a key advisor and partner to Senior Leadership, ensuring the T&E program aligns with broader financial and business objectives.
As a subject matter expert, the contractor will provide high-level advisory and dotted-line support to the internal T&E team and oversee third-party program administrators to drive cost savings, operational excellence, and policy compliance.

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement
● Executive Partnership: Partner extensively with Senior Leadership to proactively drive global T&E initiatives and provide expert guidance on travel-related business decisions.
● Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the primary Global T&E expert across the organization, collaborating with HR, IT, Security, Finance, FP&A, Benefits and Legal.
● Contract Strategy: Lead high-stakes sourcing and negotiation activities to reduce organizational costs and minimize risk, specifically with our current Travel Management Company (TMC), Egencia..
● Vendor Ecosystem: Identify and qualify new vendors for RFPs/RFQs, ensuring a competitive and high-quality vendor landscape.

Program & Expense Management
● Process Oversight: Manage the end-to-end global travel and expense process, from travel booking through to reconciliation.
● Policy Governance: Oversee global travel and expense policy management and compliance, including the management of online booking tools, expense management and exception processing for both areas.
● Vendor Management: Lead negotiations and maintain relationships with major hotel chains, airlines, rental car companies, AMEX corporate credit cards and most importantly our TMC, Egencia, (e.g.,Workday Expenses, EAN,, Cvent).
● Risk & Security: Manage escalated incident remediation and traveler security tracking/alerts in partnership with physical security to ensure duty of care.

Functional Guidance & Operational Excellence
● Advisory & Mentorship: Provide strategic guidance and dotted-line support to the internal T&E team, offering expert advice to ensure the delivery of program goals and professional development.
● Data-Driven Insights: Develop sophisticated reporting packages and dashboards. Analyze results for executive review, and offer recommendations where appropriate.
● Audit & Control: Enhance and maintain control procedures for budget reconciliation and auditing to ensure financial integrity.
● Operational Strategy: Drive efficiency through the implementation of global best practices and the enhancement of control procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
Requirements
● Professional Experience: 7+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Global Travel Management.
● T&E Expertise: Advanced, "best-in-class" knowledge of global expense practices and the travel industry. Knowledge of Egencia and Workday Expenses is seen as a bonus.
● Executive Presence: Proven track record of working effectively with and influencing Senior Leadership in a multinational environment.
● Functional Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading large-scale projects and providing mentorship or dotted-line guidance to cross-functional teams.
● Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of Microsoft Suite and web-based travel tools (e.g., Workday Expenses, Egencia, Concur, Cvent).
● Certification: Certified Global Travel Professional (CGTP), Corporate Expense Management certification, or similar professional accreditation is preferred but not essential.
