Engineering Graduate

To ensure your support and growth throughout the programme, you will be partnered with a mentor from one of our Strategic or Tactical tiers. You will meet monthly to discuss your development; receive guidance and support to fine tune your skills and give you the confidence you need to excel in your role and in your development. You will also be encouraged to give your feedback and views of the Engineering Graduate Career Programme along the way.

During your rotation you may be afforded the opportunity to support with an exciting X-Business Project. These significant projects will broaden your horizons and networking opportunities, giving you the opportunity to elevate your personal profile.

At the end of each six-month placement, you will have the opportunity to present an overview of your learnings to the Engineering First Line Management Team and share the new skills and knowledge you gained from any optional projects you may have contributed to.

At the end of your two-year Programme, you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent role with us and put your newly found skills to immediate use.

Alternatively, if you wish to learn about our wider business, you can apply to spend a third year on the Programme. If you elect to join us for Year three, we will give you cross-business training and additional technical competency training - enabling you to work across our six departments on a two-month rotational basis in the areas of: People Services, Finance, Procurement, Commercial, Marketing and Quality. If you choose this route, you will be more likely to have a fast-tracked career to a management position due to your breadth of training and skillsets.

Stay with us for four years or more and we will support you on your journey to Chartership and help you to achieve the (IENG) Incorporated Engineer qualification, in line with the UK Specification Version 4.

Whichever you decide, we will support you every step of the way.

Don’t just take our word for it - we asked Tej Chadeesingh, one of our REX engineers, why he wanted to become an engineer and the love he has for the role. This is what he had to say:

Tej [square]"As a child I had the stereotypical fascination with how things work, but as an adult I have always enjoyed being able to see the tangible results of my work and there aren’t many fields where you get to experience this more clearly than in engineering. There is a big difference in being able to mark your progress by seeing the wheels turning on a truck rather than from the abstract metrics you often get in other professions/industries."

We also asked Tej why he wanted to work for Tevva and what he has gained so far. His response was very heartfelt and positive: "The answer to this is obvious, we’re making real progress towards a reduction of millions of tonnes of CO2 over the coming years – and having fun in the process. I’ve learned a tremendous amount incredibly quickly. I’ve had the opportunity to personally design, create and test systems while engaging directly with suppliers, colleagues, and customers. The environment at Tevva has given me the knowledge, skills, and confidence to quickly establish myself as an important part of the Tevva team."

Tej would encourage others to becomes engineers "because it’s fun!".

He added: "working for a company like Tevva that is focused on making a difference to humanity gives you enormous job satisfaction - I’ve not once dreaded coming to work on a Monday and things seem poised to only get more exciting."
